Barons Craig Hotel is ideally situated to explore all 7stanes tracks with Dalbeattie’s trail only 5 miles from our front door. Dalbeatties trail host the ‘heart of Galloway’ the heart shaped stane made from Dalbeattie granite stands proud amongst the foliage of the forest symbolising Dalbeattie’s standing as the heart of the granite industry; the stane is enscribed with the locations of the granites export history far and wide.

The Barons Craig Hotel lies at the centre of the world-famous 7stanes trail centres in Dumfries and Galloway. A short, 15 minute drive will take you to 7stanes Dalbeattie with its fantastic views and its distinctive granite featured trails for all ages and levels of ability. In addition to over 50 kilometres of green though to black trails there is an outstanding Skills Loop to try out all those techniques you will need for the off-road challenges this "stane" offers.

Also nearby is the original 7stane - Mabie Forest- and, in a mere 40 minutes, you can be at the up-and-coming 7stanes Kirroughtree and Ae. With bike hire, equipment and repair services also available in the nearby town of Dalbeattie, you can genuinely say you are in Scotland's biking heaven!
